8th Annual March Madness Foul Shooting Contest

The 8th Annual March Madness Foul Shooting Contest will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM in the Community Center Gym. The Foul Shooting Contest is open to grades Kindergarten through high school and adults. Registration is required. You can pick up Registration Forms at the Community Center Front Desk or on-line at stfranciscenterlbi.org. All registration forms need to be returned to St. Francis Community Center, Attn: Recreation, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, NJ 08008. Registration is open the morning of the event. A fee of $3.00 is required. All participants must be registered in order to participate.

All participants will be placed into groups: Kindergarten (modified distance and basket), 1st & 2nd Grades (modified distance and basket), 3rd & 4th Grades (modified distance), 5th & 6th Grades, 7th & 8th Grades, High School, Ladies 18 and older and Men 18 and older. Category winners receive a new outdoor basketball.

Cookie Wars 2018

Join Schooners Warf on December 8, 2018 at 11:00am for their annual Cookie Wars. Who makes the best Sugar cookie in Bay Village & Schooner's Wharf LBI? We will let you be the judge! Taste cookies until 2pm or while supplies last and then come to Country Kettle Fudge to vote for your favorite! Will it be Breezin' Up, Song of the Sea, Beached, Country Kettle Fudge, Chick's LBI Shop, Yuletide, Spice It Up, Ship Bottom Brewery, The Coffee Bouteaque, Buddys Pet Stop, Jenna Jane's Jewelry, Surf Shack South, Coconuts & Tropics, LBI Book Swap and Little Chick’s Childrens Shop.

Historic Smithville Park

Celebrate the Holiday Season at Historic Smithville Park complete with a visit from St. Nick, who will arrive in the afternoon. Festivities will include ice carving demonstrations, tours of Smithville Mansion decorated for the holidays, carolers, live music, kids’ activities, and a holiday marketplace where you can purchase unique gifts. Expect to see Victorian performers, activities, re-enactors and vendors during this holiday event.

The Historic Smithville Mansion will be fully decorated and open for tours all afternoon. Carolers sing your holiday favorites throughout the park. Stop by for some s'mores and hot cocoa by the fire. Lookout for that grinchy Grinch! Event is FREE!

Annual Christkindlmarkt

Tuckerton Seaport’s rolls out the holly for the Annual Christkindlmarkt on November 30, December 1st, and December 2nd!

Friday 4pm-8pm
Saturday 10am-5pm
Sunday 10am-4pm

Christkindlmarkt will be a family fun three day event with late night hours on Friday, celebrating the traditions of the season with a Holiday Market and Craft Fair under a huge heated tent and throughout the Seaport buildings. Come jump start your holiday shopping. Get in the holiday spirit with a horse drawn wagon ride.

4th Annual Family Fall Fest

Join the Bayside Chapel on Saturday, October 27 from 11 AM to 4 PM for our fourth annual Family Fall Fest. This is a FREE event appropriate for the whole family. Don't forget to come in costume as our Trick or Treat hallway will be back by popular demand!

Event attraction schedule:
-Costume Parades will begin at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 and will end with a character dance party. Meet in the gym at above time to participate.

- Character meet/Greet! Come see some special guests, (to be announced soon) Character will be in the gym and available for photos from 12-12:30, 1-1:30, 2-2:30, 3-3:30. Characters will also lead the costume parade and participate in the dance party. Characters will arrive at 11:30 and leave the event at 3:30pm.

- All other attractions will be available for the entirety of the event, 11am-4pm. This includes, all inflatables, popcorn, cotton candy, coffee/hot chocolate bar, carnival games, Trick or Treat hallway.

- Please aim to not arrive before 10:45 in order to give us enough time to get all volunteers into place.

All items & activities are FREE!

3rd Annual Harvest Hayride

Please join the Long Beach Township Police Department, Long Beach Township PBA 373 and the Long Beach Township Parks and Recreation Department for our 3rd Annual Harvest Hayride and More on October 27th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Bayview Park, Brant Beach. Featuring a hayride to the beach to "pick" pumpkins then back to the park for pumpkin painting, snacks, refreshments, music and more!! The event is FREE! (Rain date: October 28th)

35th Annual Cranberry Festival

The 35th Annual Chatsworth Cranberry Festival will take place on October 18th and 19th and is a celebration of New Jersey's cranberry harvest, the 3rd largest in the United States! The Festival is a tribute to the Pine Barrens and its culture, especially that of the cranberry farms.

The focal point of the Festival is the large field across from the White Horse Inn, where many artists & craftsmen will be displaying their art; some will also be demonstrating their crafts as well as offering them for sale. Directly behind the White Horse Inn, across Route 563, is a huge outdoor food court with picnic tables; a band provides music all day long. Admission to the festival is free. A donation of $5.00 will be accepted at the parking area at the school, located off Second Street (just south of Buzby's Chatsworth General Store, on the right).

The festival is located at 3980 Main Street, Chatsworth, NJ 08019 and is presented by The Festival Committee of Chatsworth for the benefit of the restoration and preservation of the White Horse Inn.

Haunted Seaport

Recreation Basketball League

St. Francis Community Center located 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, is announcing the following registration dates for this year’s Recreation Basketball League. The Recreation League is co-ed and open to ages 8 – 14 (must be in grades 3 through 8) and registration takes place on Wednesday, October 17 or Wednesday, October 24; from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

During registration we will present a parent orientation that will be held on the hour and half-hour. One parent must attend the orientation in order to register your child. All children must be registered in order to participate in group practices.

The evaluation dates and times are as follows:
• Grades 3 & 4 - Friday, Nov.2, from 4:30 – 5:15 PM; and Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9:30 – 10:15 AM.
• Grades 5 & 6 - Friday, Nov. 2, from 5:30 – 6:15 PM; and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM.
• Grades 7 & 8 - Wednesday, November 28, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

Attendance to all practices is mandatory in order for participants to be placed on a team. Grades 3 & 4 as well as grades 5 & 6 are tentatively scheduled to be placed mid-November and games will begin December 8. Grades 7 & 8 will be placed early December and games will begin January 4, 2019.

Stafford Township's Fall Festival

What better way to spend a crisp October weekend than at Stafford Township's Fall Harvest Festival on October 13th & 14th! Bring the whole family for a weekend of fall activities to kick off the start of the season! In conjunction with the Fall Wine Festival at Manahawkin Lake Park on the same weekend, join us on Saturday for hayrides, craft vendors, scarecrow making, pumpkin picking, the Halloween Parade, the Costume Contest and the Jalapeño Eating Contest. Then, come back on Sunday for the classic car show, MORE wine, MORE craft vendors, MORE food and live entertainment by Ridgemont High with the best of the 80's!
